Happy Homemaker Monday

It's been a strange old week weather wise, a lot colder than last week, but at least it was dry for the Easter egg hunt on Sunday! It looks like we will be getting some much needed ran this week........A short week this week due to the Easter bank holiday and only two weeks until the school holidays! :o)

 "Angel Fire: Angel Trilogy Book 2" by L.A. Weatherly (I didn't seem to find much time to read last week)
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" by J K Rowling (I haven't read this one before so I am enjoying it as much as the children)
"Natural Remedies" by Melissa Corkhill

On my TV:::
Silent Witness
New Season CSI
Breaking Dawn Part 1 (H was given this DVD for her birthday ~ I hope we get a chance to watch it together this week!)

On the menu for this week:::
Monday -Roast Pork (Bank Holiday)
Tuesday - Lamb stew (cooked by Rich in the pressure cooker!!)
Wednesday - Beef Stroganoff {there is a great recipe in this book}
Thursday - Turkey Risotto
Friday -  Macaroni Cheese
(pasta and film night!)
Saturday - Garlic chicken
Sunday
 - Roast Beef and Yorkshire puddings

On my to do list:::
*Finish the fencing for the sheep
*Plant some runner bean seeds and some more peas
*Do a seed order ~ there are few things we have run out of and a few new things I would like to try
*Rotivating the vegetable patch

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
*I think I am going to start a stripy blanket as I have lots of little bits of yarn to use up
{something like this}
*I might try some crocheted hearts too {pattern here}
*The children and I have been creating things with Hama beads ~ you design something on a pegboard and then iron it and all the beads stick together!) {these are Hama beads}

Looking around the house:::
*R is finishing his home made marmalade in the kitchen (the house smells looooovely!)
*The children are all watching 'Planet 51' DVD in the lounge
*The big lime tree behind the house is just starting to explode into leaf (truly the start of Spring!)
*There is a chicken nesting under the fig tree by the front door
*Bella is asleep on the stairs

From the camera:::
Happy Birthday my darling ~ 14 years old!!

On my mind:::
*I need to tell the children to go to bed, but I know they want to watch the end of the DVD!
*Back to school tomorrow after a long weekend
*I need to plant some more seeds but the greenhouse is full!
*We must must must start rotivating the potager tomorrow ~ the tractor parts still haven't arrived
*We have let the cows out into the field today for the first time this year ~ will I be brave enough to let them out myself tomorrow or will I wait for R?  We shall see.......!

    1. Hi Sandra
      Thanks for the message. I started the blog for our grandparents in the UK and as a record for our children, I am now beginning to realise how important it is to me too ~ thank you for being my inspiration. Welcome back!
      Best wishes Emily xx
